Superior genes

Donald Trump kept fact checkers busy after last night’s debate. In the 12 hours following the debate, he garnered more than 75 fact checks. From his wild exaggerations to dangerous falsehoods, Trump continued his pattern of bold-faced lying to millions of viewers. Here are just some of the reviews of Trump’s untrue statements on topics including taxes, foreign policy, his own offensive comments and more. […..]

[…..] His biographer talks about the dark sides of Trump's self-absorption. "Trump lacks any self-irony, any form of critical self-perception." The entire family is like that, he explains. When he tried to joke with Trump's children about their father's penchant for gold and glitter in his buildings, none of them understood what he was getting at. "They don't notice when something is ridiculous," says D'Antonio. "This is the most telling characteristic of the entire Trump clan: the persistent denial of reflection."
But what worried him the most, says D'Antonio, is Trump's belief that he is genetically superior to most people in the world. In all of their conversations, he notes, Trump kept returning to the notion that by virtue of his birth, he is simply better than other people in many areas -- from playing golf to being a businessman. "I'm a big believer in natural ability," Trump said.
His son, Donald Trump Jr., shares his father's conviction. He said he was a firm believer in the concept of breeding, in "race-horse theory." Then he pointed at the ceiling with his finger, in the direction of his father's office. "He's an incredibly accomplished guy, my mother's incredibly accomplished, she's an Olympian, so I'd like to believe genetically I'm predisposed to (be) better than average." [….]

Eric Trump, the son of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, said in a radio interview this morning that his father is being unfairly asked about his early views on the invasion of Iraq because he was a “private citizen” at the time and was “not really studying these issues.” [….]

Earlier this year, Donald Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. appeared on a radio program called “Liberty Roundtable,” where he was interviewed by James Edwards, a white nationalist who had been called in as a fellow guest. [….]

[….]  Eric Trump defended his father’s “lewd” conversation with Billy Bush about sexually assaulting women.
The 32-year-old Trump not only excused his father’s conversation with the tired “locker room banter” narrative, he also suggested it’s what happens when two alpha personalities come together, while simultaneously pointing the finger at the Clintons.
Trump alleged that the Clinton campaign leaked the 2005 tape and said, “I think that’s Hillary going low. I think you’ve seen that for a long time,” the Gazette reports. He added, “She’ll dig out dirt on someone from 15 years ago when someone is in entertainment.”
[….] A few things: bragging about kissing and groping women without consent is not locker room talk, it is sexual assault; [….][….]

Eric Trump said that 'powerful' women like his sister don't tolerate sexual harassment, prompting backlash from victims and advocates who called the clueless comments a classic case of victim-blaming.[….]

Eric Trump, defended his father in an interview Monday saying he has done "an amazing service" for both the United State and the Republican Party.
"People are finally engaged in politics. My father's done an amazing service for this country, he's done an amazing service for the party. What the party doesn't like is they can't control him because he's not taking their money," Trump said in an interview with CBSN. [….]
