(Staying True To America's National Destiny).

The fate of our nation hangs in the balance. We must unify Americans around the Judeo-Christian principles which built our country because only those principles can save it. It is time to take a STAND. We are blessed to be citizens of the greatest nation the world has ever known. We have more freedom and opportunity than any people in history. Ours is a nation of industry and innovation; of creativity and productivity; of opportunity and prosperity; of decency and generosity; of noble ideals and courageous people; of laws and not of men; and of remarkable ability to correct itself. We must honor rather than denigrate our country; bless it rather than blame it for everything that is wrong in the world. The American History Month which we propose will commemorate the patriotism, sacrifice and wisdom of our Founding Fathers and the many heroes of our history. It is time for a rebirth of American faith and freedom. Our Founding Fathers pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to establish this nation. We must be willing to do the same to keep it. It is time to take a STAND. Join us.
For God & Country,
E.W. Jackson Sr.

The Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Virginia, E. W. Jackson, wrote in his book Ten Commandments to an Extraordinary Life that he doesn’t believe in evolution because animals don’t have the ability to write or talk.

You heard it here first: yoga leads to demonic possession.  Well, actually that’s not true, but don’t tell Reverend E.W. Jackson, the Republican running to be Virginia’s next lieutenant governor.
Jackson wrote in his book, Ten Commandments to an Extraordinary Life, “When one hears the word meditation, it conjures an image of Maharishi Yoga talking about finding a mantra and striving for nirvana. … The purpose of such meditation is to empty oneself. … [Satan] is happy to invade the empty vacuum of your soul and possess it.”
And if you think this is just Reverend Jackson being colorful or over the top, perhaps you missed his past statements, including the belief that Planned Parenthood is more murderous to black people as the Ku Klux Klan or that President Obama is a secret Muslim.[…]   Jackson’s comments about yoga leading to demonic possession are simply the latest in a series of remarks that illustrate the extremism that the GOP is seeking to elect.

*Scientist have made much of the fact that chimpanzees have been trained to use sign language. They take this as proof that primates are our ancestors because they, like us, have “language capacity.” It is amazing the length to which people will go to prove what is so palpably false. The ability to make sounds which serve to communicate the simplest to most complex ideas is an astounding thing, almost supernatural in itself. Equally remarkable is the ability to reduce those sounds to written symbols universally understood and capable of conveying the ideas that those sounds represent. To suggest that all this is an accident of evolution belies the intellectual power language represents. Those are gifts given to mankind by God who created us. He gave those gifts to no other creature. There is an unfathomable gulf between humans and all other creatures because creation was designed that way. No amount of time or theorizing will ever bridge that gulf. Only mankind was made to represent the divinity and genius of God himself.
